Xero handles the ledger well but leaves ASC 842 entirely to you. There's no right-of-use asset, no lease liability that accretes interest, no schedule. That work has to happen somewhere before it reaches Xero.
ROU Asset is that somewhere. Enter a lease once and it produces the classification, the schedule, and the period entries. Export a Xero manual-journal CSV, import it, and the numbers match the maturity and roll-forward reports to the cent.
At close you pick the Xero (Manual Journal) layout and export the batch.

Yes. You map each lease account slot to a Xero account code in Settings, and the export writes those codes into the *AccountCode column Xero expects.
The Xero layout exports dates as dd/MM/yyyy, which is what the manual-journal import reads. If your org needs something else, a custom template lets you set any date format.
Keep your GL. Let ROU Asset do the lease math and hand it a file that imports clean.
